Woman Taken into Custody After Alleged Medical Gas Tampering at Two Metropolitan Medical Facilities
One woman has been arrested after hospital gas systems were allegedly sabotaged at two Sydney-area healthcare centers.
Incident Details
Sutherland Hospital in the city's southern suburbs lost critical gas supplies on Tuesday morning, forcing staff to transition to portable oxygen and air as an emergency measure, according to health officials.
"This incident of the loss to gas systems is alleged to be intentional interference," authorities stated.
Officials stressed that "{To allegedly commit such acts represents extreme recklessness. The potential for catastrophic outcomes."

They further alleged that at approximately 1:30 AM, "the suspect entered the grounds of another hospital on Kareena Road ... and allegedly deactivated the primary gas supply."
The individual was apprehended in the Miranda area at approximately 4:00 AM on Tuesday for violating bail conditions, according to police.
Medical Facility Recovery
Medical authorities stated that gas systems were restored by medical staff and regional health authorities "in about two hours time."
"I want to assure the public there was no impact to medical services and that the facility has resumed normal operations as per normal," officials stated.
They added that "Entry to utility systems in NSW public hospitals is limited to authorized personnel. An investigation will examine the situation to identify potential enhancements can be put in place."
Authorities disclosed that the suspect allegedly scaled a wall at the medical facility and gained access to a restricted area.
